The Kite Runner Thoughts
I believe that this is a great novel to read especially at this time in civilisation. I think that it is a good book for grade 11 kids to read. It has some more graphic content, but grade 11 kids should be able to comprehend what is happening and possibly even relate to some of the events that happens in this book. Back in the day that this book is dated in focuses on the Russians taking over Afghanistan. The so called "people smuggling" still happens in Afghanistan, especially when the people that want to be smuggled are fugitves on the run. All in all i believe that this book is a great read for anyone really, but i think grade 11's can really understand it if they try to.

Betrayal
I believe that the second betrayal between amir and hassan is the worst. The first one in the alley was preventable, but it was already happening. The second betrayal was worse because Amir planned it out. He brought it upon himself for getting Hassan and Ali to leave.
Amir wasn't happy with hassan for the last little while because hassan wouldnt stand up to him. When Amir planted the watch and the cash under his blanket and then told his father that the watch had gone missing. Baba found out that Hassan must have stolen that stuff, so Baba confronts both Hassan and Ali about it. To Amir's surprise, when Baba asked Hassan if he took the stuff, Hassan said yes. I think this is the biggest betrayal because it was totally preventable.

Coffee Walk
Coffee Walk
It is a cold autumn afternoon, class is out and I walk down Main Street . I walk at a steady pace, looking for a play to get something warm to sooth the chills of the air. As I walk, something catches my attention out of the corner of my eye, its graffiti. It isn’t like any graffiti I have ever seen before, its not vandalism, but art. I stop and take in the beauty of an unknown artist’s masterpiece. The colors and designs are like Beethoven’s sonatas, crisp and clear and very entertaining. After a couple of minutes enjoying the art, I continue of my quest for a hot drink. I enter Blenz coffee, but to my astonishment, there is a very long line up. I don’t have time to wait in a line, so my cold body and I exit the establishment to continue our journey. My next stop takes me to the Bellevue cafĂ©. Sadly yet again, there is a long line up that I don’t have the time to wait in. Into the coldness I go again. As I’m walking, I pass by a couple of people who are enjoying a Tim Hortons coffee. I think to myself “omg why didn’t I think about that?” so I head off to Tims. I head to Tim Hortons only to realize that the couple I passed must have obtained their beverages from a different Tim Hortons location because this Tims has no one in it, and the sign on the door reads “closed due to temporary power outages”. This explains why all of the other coffee shops are so busy, because Tims is closed. I think to myself “No point in going to star bucks, they are probably really busy to”. Dissappointed, I head back to school cold and empty handed. I look across the street and see something that looks like one of heavens angles, what is it you ask? Why it is FIBONNACIS! Finally, after almost an hour of searching, I found somewhere to get something hot to drink. I walk in; all I see is two moms with their kids having something to eat. I walk up to the counter and order a chai latte. I get my drink and take a sip, the chills are suddenly gone. Satisfied, I set back out into the cold autumn air, coffee in hand. I feel the air trying to penetrate my skin like it did before, but thanks to my coffee, I feel no cold, just warmth.

IRP
For my Independent Research Project, I decided to write about Music. I chose to write about this because everyone loves music, any kind of music. I know quite a bit about music as it is already, but it seems like an interesting topic to write about. I'm going to cover the various genres of music, how certain music is composed, and how music choices vary from different people. I will need a lot of preparation before I can present this project.

My Book So Far....
As you know, I am reading "Go-Vees-Go" a story about the historic Penticton Vees. In this book, you learn about Penticton's journey from a team of "wanna be" hockey players, to world champions. I chose to read this book for two reason, 1. My grandfather was the goalie for the Vees, and 2. I really love hockey. This book would interest people like myself, who have a love for the game, and for people who like to learn the history behind hockey and some of its teams. It isn't a very hard read, but if you have never heard of the Penticton Vees before, you might not like the book. This is all I have to say about that.

Non Fiction book choice
In English class today, we had to choose a non-fiction book of our liking. I chose "Go-Vees-Go" for theses reason. First of all, my grandfather played on this team and won a gold medal with this team as they represented Canada. Secondly, I want to learn how the vees started and got to where they did. Lastly, it just looks like a great book to read, and seeming I love hockey, it sounds like a book for me.

Identities Paper
I am identified as a teenager. Most teenagers are pinned as bad kids usually. I am also identified as an athletic kid who plays a lot of sports, and that is true. Although I have also been identified as a "tool" because I play hockey. I know the Okanagan hockey school (OHA) kids are always being picked on because they play OHA. I get picked on because I play the same sport that the OHA kids play, hockey. Seniors always see teens as threats to them because they may try to steal their belongings. Yes this may be true with a few teens, but not with the majority of the teens now a days. Same goes with teens in stores. The store clerk always tend to watch the teens that come into their store rather than watching the other people who really may be stealing things. People see me as a funny kid, very caring and kind natured when they get to know me. People who just meet me for the first time may think differently of me. I tend to be more shy and reserved to the people I first meet because I don't know anything about them. There is always that group of teens that screw up the reputations for the rest of the teens. Being a teenager is hard, maybe one of the hardest times in your life because of everything that happens. Like I said before, it is always that group of kids that makes ALL teens seem like the bad guys.
